Description:

Court staff provide assistance to individuals in securing Injunctions For Protection when there are claims made of domestic violence, repeat violence, sexual violence, or dating violence. When a judge determines there is sufficient evidence for the issuance of a Restraining Order, the alleged offender is provided with a court order prohibiting contact with the complainant. A subsequent judicial hearing is held to determine if the Injunction For Protection is to be put into effect for up to one year.
