PROGRAMS
URGENT's Film Arts Culture Entrepreneurship (FACE) Program offers a comprehensive and inclusive visual and media arts education experience, incorporating career-connected learning, career exploration, and vocational skill-building opportunities for students from grades K-12 throughout the year. Through a scaffolded approach, we provide age-appropriate variations of the program: FACE Sparks, FACE Speaks, FACE Works, and Digital FACE.

Grades K-5
FACE Sparks ignites the imagination and creativity of children, encouraging their exploration of visual arts and STEM technologies. Participants engage in a range of activities, including STEM exploration, academic and social-emotional learning, homework assistance, fitness activities, and sharing their artistic creations with their families and the community.

Grades 6-8
FACE Speaks empowers youth to express themselves creatively, fostering self-discovery, connection, and collaboration. By reflecting on their identity, values, and cultural assets, participants develop their voice and create artistic content that addresses issues they care about. Their work culminates in public exhibitions, showcasing their growth and accomplishments.

Grades 9-12
FACE Works provides a year-round exploratory internship and pre-apprenticeship opportunity for high school students, serving as a pathway to career exploration and skill-building. Through immersive experiences, participants use professional tools, equipment, and software to create dynamic multimedia content, while also developing an entrepreneurial mindset, 21st-century work skills, and showcasing their work in galleries, pop-up shops, and film festivals.

High School & College Level
Digital FACE, a dynamic fee-for-service program of URGENT, Inc., showcases the exceptional talent and creativity of our digital media team. Digital FACE provides additional training, coaching, employment, and empowerment for advanced film interns, Media Arts Youth Producer Pre-Apprentices and Apprentices and program alumni in Miami, aged 16-24.

As emerging storytellers and content creators, our youth team co-creates dynamic digital assets with the guidance of experienced staff and professional mentors, during every aspect of the production process, from conceptualization to shooting and editing, resulting in impactful and captivating stories.

The FACE internship is an approved MDCPS Summer Youth Internship Program (SYIP) host agency and School Year Executive Internship eligible host site
