Wide variety of services including borrowing books, magazines, records, tapes, albums, Phonic Ear easy listening system for hearing impaired individuals, EZ Reader print enhancer. Bookmobile services available. Summer reading program also available, with assistance for research projects. Book sales first Sat. of each month. Tutor site for Literacy Volunteers of America. Must have a library card to borrow. Requirements for card include proof of residency, and I.D. such as a license.

Intake Process:

Provide a valid Florida Driver!€™s License or Florida ID card displaying current Monroe County address.
If these forms of identification are not available, or if the address is not current or local, an applicant may provide a valid, government-issued photo ID card with one of the following:

Monroe County Property Tax Receipt or Business License.
Pay stub, IRS return or printed bank checks showing applicant!€™s name and local address.
A current residential lease of at least 6 months.
Monroe County School or Employer ID.
Current Monroe County Utility Bills.
Monroe County Voter!€™s Registration Card.
Current Monroe County Vehicle or Vessel Registration.

Program Fees:

Free. May incur fees for overdue books/materials.
