Description:

The City of North Miami will be providing Rental Assistance to qualified low-income households for a minimum of 3 months, not to exceed 24 months. The City will also provide Security Deposit Assistance which will not exceed the equivalent of two (2) months!€™ rent for the unit. Help with utility deposits is also provided in conjunction with security deposit or rental assistance.

NOTE: The City of North Miami Housing and Social Services Department has paused its HOME-ARP Tenant-Based Rental Assistance Program but will continue to review applications that have already been submitted. Additionally, applicants in the queue for appointments will still be considered for funding, with any remaining uncommitted funding, as necessary.

Applications available online and printed copies can be picked up and submitted in Housing & Social Services office.

Eligibility:

Client must fall within the following categories:

Must be a U.S. Citizen, permanent resident, or have granted legal status
Must be a low-income North Miami resident
At risk of homelessness or currently homeless. Must present PROOF (eviction notice, lease agreement, etc.)
Feeling or attempting to flee domestic violence or human trafficking
Other populations at risk of housing instability.
Must not have received assistance from other agencies for same situation.
Must show proof of current employment or unemployment benefits, if applicable
