Description:

Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired presents K-12 Camp Miami Lighthouse. We offer a 6-week inclusive camp for visually impaired students and their sighted peers. K-12 Camp reaches children throughout Miami-Dade County. We provide roundtrip transportation, from 6AM- 6PM and Camp activities are from 8:30AM- 3:30 PM. The Camp provides fun and engaging activities. Our camp aims to provide children with the foundations that foster social, educational, and developmental well-being by providing evidence-based activities while actively involving parents and the community. This provides students with the opportunity to interact, thus creating a sense of commonality and belonging. All program activities are inclusive, and adaptations are made to meet the needs of individual children with visual impairments.

The Music Program is an inclusion model program that provides music instrument, software, and live performance instruction for blind and visually impaired youth along side their sighted peers. Activities include rock and pop band rehearsals, song writing classes, visits by local and international artists, weekly field trips, and culminates in a showcase performance at a local concert venue. Transportation is available for youth residing in Miami-Dade County.

Door to Door transportation available.

Summer Camp:
Dates: June 17- July 26, 2024
