Overview

Description:

Through Florida KidCare, the state of Florida offers health insurance for children, even if one or both parents are working. It includes four different parts. When you apply for the insurance, Florida KidCare will check which part your child may qualify for based on age and family income.

Lawfully residing immigrant children are eligible for Florida KidCare without a waiting period, and parent immigration status will never be asked.

Visit website to fill out an application at https://www.floridakidcare.org OR call 1-888-540-5437 to request an application to be mailed to you.

Program Fees:

Free

For other Florida KidCare programs, monthly premiums depend on your household!s size and income. Most families pay $15 or $20 a month for all children in the household.

Languages:

English, Spanish, Creole, other languages available via language line

Eligibility:

To qualify for premium assistance, a child must:

Be under 19 years old.
Be uninsured.
Meet income eligibility requirements.
Be a U.S. citizen or qualified non-citizen.
Not be eligible for Medicaid.
