Description:
Whispering Manes offers a Summer Camp that allows children to be in a unique and sensory-rich environment. The summer camp is a weeklong, full day program. The daily schedule includes horsemanship (grooming, tacking, feeding, and handling) and horseback riding for every camper. The camp also offers a variety of non-horse related activities throughout the week. Non-horse activities include yoga/stretching, designing and building obstacle courses for campers and their horses to do together, horse-themed arts and crafts, and games and water fun in the field. The camp is small, typically 8 children per week.
Summer dates: June 10th- June 28th 2024.

9:00am-3:00pm, Mon-Fri
Intake Process:
Contact us by phone or email around the end of March or first week of April. The camp fills quickly so by May there won't be many/any spots left open.
Program Fees:
The cost is variable due to grants that are awarded to underwrite the cost as much as possible.

Eligibility:
The children must have some special need or disability.
They must be at least 8 years old and while we don!t have a fixed maximum age, we try to keep them to under 18 years old.
The children must be able to communicate their needs to the staff and counselors, go to the bathroom unassisted, eat unassisted, and not have any behavior issues.
The campers complete the same application as the school year participants, and they must be evaluated by the Program Director before they can be approved for camp. The application is under the Programs tab on our website.
