MDC - NORTH CAMPUS - SUMMER CAMP PROGRAM

Description:

Miami Dade College's CSI and Procedural Justice Camp will offer youth including youth with disabilities, the opportunity to participate in 6 weeks of structured activities at the North Campus in northwest Miami-Dade. The camp supports academic success, social-emotional learning, skill-building, and family engagement. Successful completion of the 180 contact hours leads to obtaining three college credits applicable to degrees from the School of Justice. Skill-building will focus on two specialized areas:


College Readiness activities will offer opportunities to increase access to college to underrepresented students through participation in a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) course and the College Ready Program.
Civic Engagement activities will foster civic and social responsibility through participation in shaping how community members perceive individuals in position of authority thus influencing how individuals in positions of authority interact with community members.
