Description:

Florida Kidcare is a government subsidized health insurance program for Florida children birth through 18 years old. It includes four programs: Medicaid for children from families with lowest income; Healthy Kids for children between 5 years old and 18 years old whose families have an income above the Medicaid income level; MediKids for children 1 year old to 4 years old whose families have an income above the Medicaid income level; and Children's Medical Services (CMS) for children with special health needs birth through 18 years old.

Intake Process:

Must fill out an application online at: https://www.healthykids.org/apply.

OR call 1-888-840-5437 to request an application to be mailed to you.

For information on the Florida Kidcare programs call 1-877-543-7669 (select language, press 1 for general information on programs and/or press 3 for a representative).

Program Fees:

There is no charge for Medicaid for children (KidCare Medicaid).

For other Florida KidCare programs, monthly premiums depend on your household!€™s size and income. Fees can be $15 or $20 a month.

Eligibility:

The family income of children wishing to enroll in the KidCare program must fall within the guidelines that are based on family size.

Typically, the household income should be at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Line.
