The DEA's mission is to massively reduce the availability of illegal drugs in the United States and to enforce drug laws. Its responsibilities include: investigation of drug trafficking and money laundering; coordination of Federal, State and local drug law enforcement agencies; seizure and forfeiture of capital derived from drug trafficking; and case preparation for prosecution of major organizations.
