We also provide education, coaching, and tools to enable parents to become an empowered and essential part of their child!€™s care team.

Intake Process:

STEP 1. Get to Know Your Family
Our team meets with you and your child to conduct an initial developmental evaluation. Clinicians will learn more about your family and the goals you have for your child in order to provide an overview of the requirements for the Comprehensive Developmental Therapy program.

STEP 2. Develop Relationships
Your child doesn!€™t just get a therapist. Your family gets a team. Based upon the initial evaluation findings, your child will spend 6 to 8 additional sessions over a 2-week period with a masters level clinician to fully evaluate his or her individualized needs.

A core principle of our developmental approach is to establish a relationship with the child in order to create an evaluation environment that allows the child to fully demonstrate their abilities.

STEP 3. Design a Personalized Treatment Plan
Parents and clinicians meet again to discuss the developmental evaluation and review the treatment plan recommended by the team. The treatment plan will include a recommended level of intensity, the environment for therapy (home vs. clinic), along with a preliminary set of treatment goals.

STEP 4. Match You With Your Care Coordinator
Each family will be assigned a Care Coordinator to help match them with the best therapy team of professionals and developmental coaches. Our Care Coordinator will work with families to create and maintain therapy schedules, as well as provide referrals to services not offered by Positive Development.

STEP 5. Ongoing Coaching
The Developmental Client Coach (DCC) works directly with your child, using developmental strategies to practice and enhance outcomes with assistance from all specialists. In addition, the Parent Educator will guide you through the developmental approach, providing training to support the family!€™s ongoing learning process.
