M-DC PUBLIC HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT - CONDOMINIUM SPECIAL ASSESSMENT PROGRAM

Description:

Miami-Dade County condominium owners facing special assessment payments for structural repairs to their building can seek help through the county!€™s repair loan program.

The program allows owners earning less than the area median income to qualify for a 0% interest rate loan of up to $50,000 to pay for special assessments associated with repairs as a result of building recertification requirements.

The applicants are selected on a first come, first served basis

Intake Process:

Must go online and fill out form. These forms must then be mailed or hand-delivered to PHCD office.

Program Fees:

No fees to apply.

Monthly payment of $50 for low-income families that receive repair loan assistance.

Eligibility:

Must meet following criteria:

The homeowner must reside in a condominium unit and it must be their primary residence and homestead.
Mortgage payments and HOA/Maintenance fees must be current.
Homeowners must earn less than 140% of median area income: $95,620 for singles and $109,200 for couples
Must provide a description of the work to be done or scope of repair work required to determine loan assistance.
Must provide all required documentation as outlined in guidelines.
