Description:

The City of Hialeah's Young Leaders with Character (YLC) Program provides after school and summer camp inclusion programming for current and/or incoming students at Hialeah Middle School. The after school program offers activities for students in reading, math, science, art, nutrition, physical fitness, social emotional learning homework support, family involvement and provide a nutritional snack. Summer camp offers activities for students in reading, math, science, art, STEM classes, field trips, swimming lessons and life guard classes, guitar. piano, dance, nutritional cooking classes, physical fitness, social emotional learning, chess and provide a nutritional breakfast, lunch and snack

After School:
3:50pm-6:50pm, Mon-Fri

Summer Camp:Held at Hialeah Educational Academy
7:30am-6:30pm, Mon-Fri

Intake Process:

Parents must provide: a copy of child/children birth certificate or passport, current photo of child/children, proof of residency (utility bill), current report card or school acceptance letter and fill-out registration forms for the City of Hialeah.

Eligibility:

Current and/or incoming Hialeah Middle School student.

Children with disabilities are accepted but they will have a meeting with the inclusion master teacher beforehand to see if the program is able to accommodate appropriately.
