Description:
The Project UP-START Program assists with the identification, enrollment, attendance, and academic support of students who are living in unstable housing.
Eligible families qualify for the following services:
1. Immediate free lunch
2. Enrollment assistance to home school
3.College transition support for high school seniors
4. Transportation request to School of Origin
5. Referral for emergency shelter and/or rental assistance programs at an outside agency
6. Virtual tutoring services
7. Appointment with The Shop

Intake Process:
Parents/Guardians are advised to visit their child(ren) school to complete the Project UP-START Student Eligibility Questionnaire (FM-7378) and the Referral for Services (FM-7404). The parent/guardian will be contacted once the Project UP-START Program receives the forms.

Eligibility:
Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Project UP-START provides support services to students enrolled in Miami-Dade County Public Schools from Head Start through 12th grade who are experiencing unstable housing.
This includes students who are sharing the housing of family or friends due to hardship, students living in shelters, public places, hotel/motels, or substandard housing.
