Description:

Telecare is a 24/7 direct line to medical advice, support and hands-on care, as appropriate, at any time of the day or night, evenings, weekends, and holidays when the hospice team is off duty and the VITAS office is closed. A nurse or other patient care expert answers the call. The nurse has access to patient files and can answer any questions, contact the physician or dispatch an on-call team member to the bedside.

VITAS team members include registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, home health aides, physicians, social workers, chaplains and other caregiving professionals.
