Description:

The Care to Share program provides emergency assistance funds to customers in a Crisis situation and unable to pay their electric bill. A household may receive up to a maximum of $750.00 for electric service once in a 12 month period, excluding deposits, non-electrical products/services, return check fees, and additional billings resulting from service tampering or fraud. (This amount is subject to change).

Eligibility Requirements:
To be eligible for FPL !€“ Care to Share program funds, FPL customer must:
!— Physically reside in Miami-Dade County
!— Have an account with FPL
!— Have an original Final Notice or Disconnect Notice with FPL
!— Have a financial plan to pay future bills
!— Show proof of hardship
!— Have exhausted other available energy assistance resources
!— Current State of Florida Driver!€™s License or Florida Identification for all adults in the household 18 and older. Applicant ID must match the service address on the bill
!— Applicant name must match customer of record (i.e. Account Name) to apply for assistance
!— Birth Certificates for children 17 years or younger
!— Social Security cards of everyone in the household
!— Proof of income for the last 30 days **
(No written statement of a regularly received cash contribution is accepted)
!— Current Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits printout (if applicable)
!— Signed Authorization for Release of General and/or Confidential Information
!— Signed Notice Regarding Collection of Social Security Numbers
