Description:

South Florida Autism Charter School provides education and therapeutic services to individuals diagnosed with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), targeting students with communication deficits and/or behavioral challenges, and who may require training in self-help skills. The methodologies of B.F. Skinner!€™s Theory of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) and Verbal Behavior (VB) are applied in conjunction with State Standards for students on a modified curriculum in order to provide the most effective individualized educational programs possible.

We presently serve 230 students. At maximum capacity, our school will serve 300 students.

      General Information

      Hours:

      7:00am-4:00pm, Mon-Fri

      Intake Process:

      You may request an application in our office, Monday through Friday, between 8:30am-3:30pm.

      Eligibility:

      * Services students in kindergarten through 12th grade, and up to 22 years old.
      * Student must reside in Miami-Dade/Broward County.
      * Student must be diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
      !€‹* Student must have a public school IEP reflecting eligibility for Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) services and placement.

      * Student must be on a modified curriculum !€“ we cannot enroll students who are on a general education curriculum

      In addition, the student must fall within one or more of the following categories:

      * Student has behavioral difficulties
      * Student has communication deficit
      * Student requires training in self-care skills
