Description:
The tenant-based long-term rental subsidy program under HOPWA serves low income persons with an AIDS diagnosis who require assistance with rental payments for an extended period of time (the program is hereafter referred to as the Long-Term Rental Assistance Program.
The goal of the program is to assist program participants in achieving and maintaining housing stability so as to avoid homelessness and improve their access to, and engagement in, HIV treatment and care.

Eligibility:
Must be HIV+
Total household income cannot exceed 80% of Area Median Income, as per HUD guidelines.
Cannot be receiving housing or utility assistance from another program.
Must be a U.S. Citizen or have lawful immigrant status.
Must currently live in rental housing in Miami-Dade County and be named as tenant or occupant under the written lease or own the home you live in.
Monthly rent or mortgage payment, plus basic utilities (telephone, electricity, water & sewer, gas and trash), may not be more than 60% of your current monthly total household income.
**Program cannot assist persons in foreclosure proceedings or currently experiencing homelessness.**
