Responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances of the City of Miami, preventing crime, investigating criminal activity, apprehending, arresting and detaining suspects, presenting evidence, regulating traffic, and investigating traffic accidents.
Also sponsors the Police Explorers and an athletic program for youth. The Victim Advocate Service for victims of crime.
