Description:

This program provides a one-time emergency repair assistance of up to nine thousand Dollars ($9,000.00) to owner-occupied households. Homeowner(s) must be 62-year-old or older.

Repairs are limited to items that present an immediate danger to life, limb, property or safety of the public or the occupants. Interior and exterior repairs including, but not limited to roof, water heater, plumbing, electrical, sewer, windows, doors, ramps, handrails, etc. Funding for the program is provided by HUD through CDBG as a grant with no repayment requirement.

Registration is currently paused, but clients can call to check for availability of funds.

Eligibility:

*Applicant must be 62 years or older.
*Applicant must own and occupy a home in North Miami
*Property must be Homestead Tax Exempt
*Applicant must be current on mortgage payments, property taxes and property insurance
*Applicant must not have outstanding code/zoning violations or liens.
*Total household income may not exceed the HUD required income limits.
*Every household member must be included in application.
